I’ll miss you, Grandma…

With a heavy heart, yesterday and today, we said our final goodbyes to my Grandmother Bev. Below is some of the speech I said at the funeral service today. Rest In Peace my sweet, sweet grandma.

“With her love, guidance, passion, and her soul, we all had unwavering support no matter the occasion. She was the true meaning of a strong and genuine woman.
A couple of memories I will take with me forever is the amount of love and support I had from her. No matter if we were together or afar, there was never a birthday missed or congratulations phone call not dialed. She was always encouraging me to be the best that I could be.
Majority of the holidays were spent with Grandma and Grandpa enjoying each other’s company. Whether in California or Minnesota, there was always lots of laughter, miles walked, and food consumed. Grandma was a phenomenal cook … but I think her specialty was definitely the dessert category. White divinity cookies, frozen chocolate corn flake cookies, and my dads favorite, burnt cut out sugar cookies. Well there was always plenty when we arrived let’s just say that… At one point on Christmas though, I had to retire from the chocolate roll consumption… the reasoning behind this was I ate SO much of her great chocolate roll… I became so sick and had to sleep in their bathroom for 2 days! I still haven’t had chocolate roll since.
Grandma did it all. She always made life fun and enjoyable for not only my grandpa but for everyone around her. Her smile was contagious, her laugh was so warming, and her heart was the biggest of all.
God made a great daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to us all. On December 4, 1927 God sent us my grandma and on July 8, 2017 he took her back.
We are grateful and thankful and we are in a better place because of her love and joy on this Earth. But all in all, I thank you grandma and will dearly miss you…”
